The shoulder straps on my son are a bit loose, so i had to use a wribbon to tie them together, but he's on the small side, and will most likely will grow into it by the summertime. I remember having to do this with my little sister too, when she had one of these years ago until she grew into it.

This is a great trainer. keeps the childs head above water and is very stable. after trying many different products we found the one that was best for my 2 year old grand daughter. She loves it now that she can kick without tipping over.

I actually bought this one for a friends kid because I have one for my daughter and love it. We can be at the pool all day and I have no worries of her in the pool as I don't have to be in the pool holding her the whole time. When we leave for the beach in 2 weeks, this will be the 3rd year we use it. She jumps in and plays with the big kids.
One thing that I did notice this year was that I'm having a difficult time getting it on my daughter since the whole is so small and she is only 4 and quite small. That is extremely disappointing as I think this will be the last year I can use the bubble and I think she could use it again next year.

I was looking to replace a similar product that had worn out.[...] how sturdy and durable these appeared to be out of the box. (Note: the inner tube requires a bicycle pump to inflate.) I did not like the strap that is supposed to go between the child's legs. We had to cut it off because it was VERY uncomfortable for both of my daughters. I was also disappointed that instead of floating, my daughters sunk while wearing these. In fairness, they are each almost 40 pounds. But since the other similar swim trainer that we were replacing held them up in the water just fine, I expected this to do the same job. However, the inner tube, while heavy-duty, is somewhat small. I would only recommend this for much smaller children. Hopefully some of my nieces and nephews can use the 3 that we bought, since we can't.
